TN&TN contest: design a new link-up button

Something has been bothering me for a while.

I have heard an artist should never limit themselves to colouring inside the lines, but the fact that the writing ends outside the link-up button for our weekly WIP Wednesday posts bothers me. I love to see the logo on the blogs of our collective members... but I've also noticed that other link-up buttons are more appealing to me.

I thought I could hide it. I thought I had it under control. But I've given up and an seeking help. I have "link-up image envy".

What do you think? (Please reply below, in the "leave a comment" section.) Do you think we should change our link-up button? Can you help? You are an incredibly creative and resourceful collective. I think we can make a different button that is as symbolic and beautiful as others' buttons.

As Monika and I work out some details about how to create a new button and keep you all involved in the process, please let us know what you think. I promise to read all of your ideas.

With thanks,

Laurel

  1. YES PLEASE! Change the button and update it. Most "buttons" are square now.

  2. I like the button and the fact that it is outside the lines.
However, I have not been able to grab the button to post on my blog.

  3. I think it's great that you're asking the collective for input and creative ideas! The words outside the lines never bothered me. . . maybe a red maple leaf as the background? I think a new button is a good idea and look forward to the results.

  4. I like the idea of a maple leaf, maybe incorporate a needle and thread either stitching it down or the stem be the needle with thread thru it?

It's our 150 birthday next year so wave hrs maple leaf!
